Digital art is anything art made on the platform of the internet, and like the article stated, its worth is determined by the highest price someone is willing to pay for it. Digital art is an entire world of its own and the exchange of money is for a simple file. It is entirely different than art museums and curators who exchange a physical piece for the value of it. In digital art, what you buy is not tangible; It's in a cloud, in a file, and it's interesting whether this factor increases or decreases the value of it. If someone is willing to buy a gif for $5,800, this adds a ton of cultural value to digital art. It becomes something people care about and seek out. I don't agree with Michael Green's notion that the museum is dead. I think digital art is an entirely different thing and they should be seen as separate rather than one beating out the other.
