This zine was made as a cynical commentary on capitalism and materialism. The aesthetic of the zine takes after early 90's and 2000's fashion magazines that marketed to young teenage girls. The images have bright playful colors juxtaposed with blunt text telling you to buy things and to be an unconscious consumer. This zine is meant to make you think about how much is constantly being marketed to us all the time and how much our society values fitting in and following trends rather than just buying clothes you like. The way fashion and beauty are marketed, especially in the past, is truly comical; With hot or not lists, who wore it better, how to please your man, and pages of trends you should be following. I thought this magazine take would be fun to create especially with a 2000's aesthetic.
